Claude Guay is the Member of Parliament for LaSalle–Émard–Verdun and a proud Montrealer with deep Québécois roots. Before entering public life, he built a distinguished international career in business and technology, including serving as President and General Manager of IBM Canada and later holding senior global leadership roles within the company. Over four decades, he worked across sectors including innovation, manufacturing, financial services, energy, transportation, and government transformation.
A graduate of École Polytechnique de Montréal in industrial engineering and a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec, Claude has long been recognized for his leadership in digital innovation, economic development, and responsible technology. Throughout his career, he worked closely with governments, businesses, and community organizations to help position Canada as a leader in emerging technologies and skills development.
In addition to his business career, Claude has remained deeply engaged in community service. He has supported numerous initiatives focused on youth, inclusion, entrepreneurship, and access to opportunity, including organizations such as Robotique FIRST Québec, DMZ, and United Way Greater Toronto Area.
Elected to the House of Commons in 2025. Claude is committed to building a stronger, more affordable, and more innovative Canada for future generations. He lives in Montreal with his wife, Carol Anne. Together, they are proud parents of a son serving in the Canadian Armed Forces and grandparents to a young granddaughter who inspires Claude’s commitment to public service and to the future of Canadian families.
